CareerWade Robson was a kind of childhood prodigy, his dancing and choreographing career starting very early, inspired by his older sister and Michael Jackson's "Thriller" music video.
Becoming a professional dancer at the age of five, Robson belonged to a talent troupe, Johnny Young's Talent School, that performed roughly fourteen times a week in venues like shopping malls. He became well known in Australia for his renditions of Michael Jackson. He appeared on national television dancing his way through a reality competition where the ultimate prize was meeting Michael Jackson. Jackson was so impressed with the child prodigy that he invited him onstage to dance in front of an audience of 20,000. Wade decided to move to America at nine to further pursue his talents after a dance at Disneyland sparked his interest in the United States. Before he had even turned ten years old, he had already appeared in several Michael Jackson music video's (such as "Heal the World") as well as other TV advertisements and commercials. He is considered a major creative force in the industry with over twenty years of experience, and has choreographed artists such as Britney Spears, *Nsync, Usher, and Pink to name a few. Although largely versatile, Robson is regarded as a jazz choreographer. His most well known pieces come from his time choreographing for So You Think You Can Dance. Two of his routines, "Ramalama (Bang Bang)" in 2007, and "The Hummingbirds and the Flower" in 2008 earned him back-to-back Emmy awards. He is currently the creative director of Demi Lovato |
